Management Dynamics Announces the Release of Rate Explorer 8.2.1

Leading Tariff and Service Contract Automation Solution Adds More Than 100 Functional Enhancements

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ, June 24, 2002, Management Dynamics, Inc., a leading provider of contract management solutions for global shippers and ocean carriers, today announced the release of Management Dynamics Rate Explorer 8.2.1, a function-rich, Web-based solution for ocean carriers and shippers, designed to improve procurement and contract management. This release significantly extends the functionality and benefits for customers and includes more than 100 functional enhancements, including options for creating contract inlands and contract arbitraries and the ability to import spreadsheets to create rate tables from worksheets.

Rate Explorer is being used by many of the largest ocean carriers in the world to manage service contracts in a calculable format to achieve improved rating productivity, accuracy and business intelligence. The complete solution allows carriers to manage service contract negotiations, eliminate rating errors and improve productivity by auto-calculating contracts, maintaining rate histories, and auto-rating bookings and bills-of-lading (BOL).

"In addition to calculable service contracts, Rate Explorer 8.2.1 gives our customers a combination of productivity, rate analysis and rate retrieval enhancements beyond any other solution on the market," said Glenn Gorman, Chief Technology Officer, Management Dynamics. "The productivity enhancements in this release will improve efficiency by cutting the amount of time spent creating spreadsheets in half with simplified screens and navigation. This release also offers carriers the ability to build custom reports, based upon contract properties, and perform multi-factor searches with output arbitraries in contract and rate tariffs, in addition to many other enhancements. All of these improvements are designed to increase efficiency and give our customers a competitive edge."

Some additional enhancements to Rate Explorer 8.2.1 include: browser support over the intranet to improve upload speed and reliability; visibility to the status of a rate table while it's releasing; enhanced rate list and bottom-line display files; improved filtering and print options; improved net change reports for service contracts; enhanced options for creating contract inlands and contract arbitraries; enhanced options for creating arbitrary rules in rate tariffs; the ability to build custom reports based upon contract properties; the ability to create and release a commodity from within a rate table; the ability to apply cell-specific notes in a rate table; the ability to rollback a contract amendment; the ability to perform a test calculation from within a rate table prior to its release; the ability to export a report directly to Excel; and the ability to perform multi-factor searches using contract inlands in contract tariffs.
