MINNEAPOLIS and ROCKVILLE, MD -- August 4, 2003 -- NextLinx Corporation, the leading provider of global trade content and management solutions, has integrated its Restricted Party Screening (RPS) Engine at Digital River®, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing. Adding to Digital River's suite of world-class e-commerce services, NextLinx's RPS Engine will help Digital River screen client shipments against governmental lists and avoid illegal activity with restricted parties in order to reduce the risks and fines associated with cross-border transactions.
NextLinx's RPS engine allows Digital River to screen potential customers using realtime regulatory data. As a Web-based global trade management tool that sends and receives regulatory data instantly via XML, the RPS Engine integrates into Digital River's world-class e-commerce system and screens against more than 15 lists issued by U.S. and international governments. Leveraging NextLinx's comprehensive database of global trade content, Global KnowledgeÔ, Digital River will have real- time access to critical information necessary for complying with increased security initiatives and more frequent changes to the government's restricted party lists.
"NextLinx's RPS Engine has allowed us to enhance our e-commerce offering with a value-added service," said Jay Kerutis, Digital River's president of digital commerce services. "The integration of up-to-date, real-time trade content within our e-commerce offering is critical for managing the global e-commerce operations of thousands of our clients. As a result of this newly automated service, our clients can focus on growing their businesses while we help ensure that their shipments are destined for friendly enduse."
NextLinx RPS Engine puts suspected parties, such as specially designated nationals, terrorists, narcotics traffickers, and blocked persons and vessels, on hold and allows the user to override "false positive" hits, which are ascertained to be legitimate. In addition, the screening system maintains an audit trail, adding a level of security throughout the global supply chain.
"With increased security concerns, companies must ensure that their international shipments comply with all trade regulations. By leveraging up-to-date global trade content, Digital River is able to safeguard its business operations," said Rajiv Uppal, founder, president and CEO of NextLinx Corporation. "Digital River's ability to utilize the RPS Engine to manage its high volume of transactions on a daily basis is a true validation of our depth in content and scalable technology performance. We are excited to be working with this e-commerce leader."
