EAST RUTHERFORD,
NJ, September 11, 2008 --
Management Dynamics, a leading
provider of global trade
management solutions, today
announced that AFL
Telecommunications, a provider
of fiber optic products and
services to the telecom market,
has launched a worldwide
deployment of Management
Dynamics’
Global Trade Management (GTM)
solution to centrally manage
trade compliance across their
import and export operations.
AFL is implementing Management
Dynamics’
Global Trade
Compliance including modules for
Import Compliance, Trade
Agreement Management and Export
Compliance, as well as trade
content to manage the
complexities of classifying
products, calculating landed
cost, determining licensing
requirements, and screening for
restricted parties. AFL selected
Management Dynamics’ solution
for the breadth of trade
content, the ability to manage
duties paid by performing Post
Entry review on 100% of its
imports, and fully optimizing
the cost savings associated with
their NAFTA program.
“We selected
Management
Dynamics’ GTM solution because
it best fit our business
requirements, the company has a
great reputation within the
industry, and we were impressed
by the positive feedback we
received from customers,” said
Jeff Schmerbeck, Director of
Supply Chain for AFL
Telecommunications, LLC.
“Management Dynamics’ solution –
after an extensive evaluation –
was ultimately the best
compliance solution that offered
the breadth to automate each
aspect of our global trade
process and the depth of
functionality to support our
business units with the tools
they need to measure and stay in
compliance.”
Management Dynamics’ Global
Trade Management solution
addresses AFL’s key requirements
for managing trade compliance,
including:
- Highly automated process
that centralizes and
standardizes AFL’s import
and export process across
six of its major business
units worldwide;
- Reporting and metrics
management, such as analysis
of duty paid and post entry
review, to measure the
compliance value for its
internal clients, better
evaluate its brokers, and
calculate the performance of
its service providers;
- Centralized product
classification with mapping
tools to facilitate
classification in multiple
countries along with
purchased part details that
identify relevant Free Trade
Agreements and origin
information; and
- Integration with Oracle
ERP across six autonomous
business units.
“Many
decentralized companies who
depend on global trade for
top-line growth and competitive
cost structures are looking at
GTM solutions that can centrally
provide structure and visibility
to the overall process and
deliver best-of-breed tools to
each business unit,” said Jim
Preuninger, CEO of Management
Dynamics. “AFL
Telecommunications is building a
strong GTM foundation with
execution tools to automate all
aspects of their compliance
process and with visibility to
key metrics to manage and
continually improve their
compliance efforts.
